Pending Confirmation Request

From Harmony Lists KB

Confirmation requests can be viewed via the Confirmation tab of the Moderation Queue panel. This tab displays both subscription confirmation requests and verification of email requests.

A confirmation request is sent out when someone signs up for a Mailman List and the list subscription settings is set to confirm. If someone signs up for Mailman List for the first time using Affinity, then a verification email is sent out regardless of the list subscription settings. This verification task is part of Mailman 3 core and it cannot be avoided. A verification request will also be displayed in the Confirmation tab. It will look exactly like a confirmation request and that cannot be helped.

The Moderation queue panel allows List Owners and Moderators to either discard a request or ban a request. Discarding a confirmation/verification request is helpful when the confirmation/verification link has expired (after 24 hours). Banning a confirmation/verification request is done when you want to prevent the user trying to subscribe from doing so now and in the future.

How To Discard A Pending Confirmation/Verification Request

  1. Log into Affinity with either your List Owner or Moderator user account.
  2. Click the Confirmation tab to view any pending subscription requests.
  3. Each confirmation request is listed on its own row. At the end of the row is a mini-menu represented by three dots.
  4. Click on the mini-menu for the pending confirmation/verification request and choose the Discard action. This will immediately delete the confirmation/verification request.

How To Ban A Pending Confirmation/Verification Request

  1. Log into Affinity with either your List Owner or Moderator user account.
  2. Click the Confirmation tab to view any pending subscription requests.
  3. Each confirmation request is listed on its own row. At the end of the row is a mini-menu represented by three dots.
